Latest livestock market news and prices:-
St Asaph  - 29 July 2010 An entry of 3087, 1179 cull ewes and rams, 23 prime cattle and 6 OTM cattle. Lambs The 3087 lambs on offer averaged 166.72p/kilo. The top price lambs per kilo were 193p for 40kg lambs shown by H & M Jones, Wigfair. The top price lambs per head were £84 for 56kg lambs shown by O H Hhghes, Tan Y Graig. Cull Ewes & Rams An entry of 1122 cull ewes averaged £42.91 and the 57 rams on offer averaged £52.91p/kilo. The ewes sold to a top of £104 for ewes shown by R G Pierce, Llwyn Coed Isa. The top price rams were £83 and were shown by E L Davies, Trem Y Twr. Beef Cattle An entry of 23 beef cattle returned an overall average 132.58p/kilo. The 13 steers on offer averaged 133.70p.kilo and sold to 147.50p for a steer weighing 685kg who was also the top price steer per head at £1010.38 and was shown by GW & SE Jones, Cae Goronwy. The 9 heifers on offer averaged 130.71p/kilo and sold to 134.5p/kilo (twice) and on both occasion for heifers shown by J T Cunnah & Sons, Marian Bach. The top price heifer per head was £854.40 for a heifer weighing 640kg and was shown by D A Jones, Hafod Y Coed. OTM Cattle The 3 OTM heifers on offer sold to 114.50p/kilo and averaged 109.37p/kilo. The 3 bulls on offer sold to 107.50p/kilo and averaged 106.52p/kilo.
